Burning of the Mortgage on the Masonic Temple at State College, PA

The mortgage on the State College Masonic Temple was burned at a dinner in the Ferguson Township School, Pine Grove Mills, PA, on Saturday evening September 27, 1958. More than 200 people attended the dinner including members of the Masonic Temple Association and their wives, Masters of nearby lodges and other guests.

Brothers Robert J. Miller and Edward L. Willard, both past presidents of the association and Past Masters of State College Lodge No. 700, F. & A. M., burned the mortgage midway in the program. Brother William M. Townsend, Philipsburg, D.D.G .M. of the 21st Masonic District congratulated members of the Association in their successful effort to pay the mortgage and thus complete the building of the temple.
