Brethren,

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for electing me Worshipful Master for the upcoming year. I sincerely hope I can live up to the expectations expected for one who assumes the role of a Worshipful Master. I would also like to congratulate Brother Anthony Ghaffari, PM on his year serving our Lodge as Worshipful Master. Furthermore, I look forward to working with our new Senior Warden, Brother Cory L. Trivelpiece and Junior Warden, Brother John R. Segursky, Jr.

The upcoming year looks to be a very busy one for our Lodge. In addition to initiating four petitioners in January, I will be introducing a mentorship program to help retain these new members once they become Master Masons. The mentorship program will serve as an excellent method of forming strong brotherly relationships not only between the new petitioners, but also amongst each of the existing brothers. It will team a few experienced and newer brothers together to share experiences and enlighten the incoming petitioners. They will all meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 pm and will serve for a three month period. I encourage all brethren to participate and to contact me if they can serve as a mentor for any of the three month periods starting in January. These are January-March, April-June, and September-November.

As a result of the heavy degree work scheduled for the first few months, I strongly encourage all brethren to attend the officer’s practices for the purpose of learning the ritual work. Not only will it help you to become more familiar with the degree work, it may afford the officers a break if you can fill in for a degree or two.

Another new activity that will be introduced in 2010 is a Masonic book club. The book club, which was started by Brother Jeter Louis Campbell III, will meet bi-monthly at 6:15 pm beginning on the fourth Tuesday in February. The book clubs purpose is to encourage brotherly discussions with a commonly assigned book. A moderator will be selected with each book. The first book, The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, will be moderated by Brother Louie and me. If you have any suggestions for future books, or would like more information, contact Brother Louie or visit our lodge’s website (
www.lodge700.org). You will find the schedule for this and all lodge events by visiting our website.

As a friendly reminder, if you have not yet paid your 2010 lodge dues they are now past due. It is not a pleasant task to make repeated reminder calls to the brethren whose dues are in arrears. It is even less pleasant to have to suspend brothers simply because they have failed to send in their dues in a timely manner.

I look forward to seeing you in lodge and thank you for your continued support and dedication to our Fraternity.

Fraternally Yours,

Kenneth J. Corradini

Worshipful Master
